Overall TT results for 2024
Congratulations…
Congratulations to Grant and Ellamay Piggott on winning this year’s Dart 18 TT series. With a win at the last event of the year they just pipped David Lloyd and Jo Jo, both finishing on 6 points but Grant winning on count back.
Tom Parker and Evie, along with Mark Robinson and Martyn Warner also moved up above Joe Franks following good results at Britlingsea to take 3rd and 4th respectively.
To qualify for the Individual Travellers Trophy, you have to have completed at least 4 TT Events, and your score is your best 4 results.
UKIDA also run a club team competition with the highest placed 3 people (that have completed at least 2 TT events) from each club combining scores to form a Club Championship Score.
This year being led by Nigel Jupp, backed up by Rob Garka and Caleb Cooper Worthing Sailing Club just managed to retain the Club Cup. However, it was a close-run competition with Worthing finishing on 40 points closely followed by the Royal Yorkshire YC on 43 and Stokes Bay SC on 44 points.
During 2024, the good news was that 102 different helms took part a UKIDA TT event, the slightly more disappointing news is that of the 102 only 45 did more than 1 event, with 13 doing 4 or more events. Congratulations and thanks go to Tom Parker and Andy McLeish who both managed to support 7 events during the year.
During 2025 we would ask club Captains to get together with their fleets and try and encourage their members to support at least 1, and hopefully 2 TT events that were not at their home club. If people do not travel, then clubs will stop doing open events and the circuit will die. This will leave the 57 people who only competed at their home club, no future home event!
